Retiring in the Dog Days of summer has allowed me to focus on my creative endeavors. I do commissioned pet portraits in colored pencil on suede board and pastel on pastelmat. I also create more impressionistic watercolors. My passion is animals and nature. I prefer to focus on the beauty of nature and beautiful animal souls...there is enough stress and negativity to occupy our minds.

Help Merle Hazzard to fly again
I have created a new line of products to fund Merle's knee surgery. For a minimum donation of $30 to Merle's medical fund your pet can star in their own holiday watercolor painting. Each original 5x7 painting will be ready to mat or frame in your own style. You can choose Wonder (star), Joy (ornament) or Awe (snowflake). Please reach out to get on the list now and help Merle get his Christmas wish to be able to run and catch again.
Take a clear photo of your pet from the side, preferably looking up a bit. Merle had no problem to be in position with the help of a little treat. Pick which option you want: star, ornament, snowflake.

Chicken Scratch
I started creating these designs as a warmup while working on portrait commissions. I use my left (non-dominant) hand and a 10-minute timer to sketch the chicken in ballpoint pen. I then add some pops of color with watercolor markers. I hope you enjoy these whimsical 5x7 cards as much as I enjoy creating them. Each card is an original greeting card that can also be framed.
